New Tools & Resources Now Available from LDL

Release Date:
December 10, 2019 - 10:45

In 2019, LDL focused efforts with both utility stakeholders and industry partners to promote knowledge and drive alignment specific to networked lighting controls. The following resources are a direct result of this initiative and were developed with input from subject matter experts inside and outside LDL.

The first resource is a short video which describes the benefits of Luminaire Level Lighting Control (LLLC) systems. The video walks viewers through three critical controls strategies which should be considered for all project types. The video also highlights how LLLC systems provide unique space flexibility when it comes time for tenant improvements and other key non-energy benefits.

The second resource is a six-part learning series dedicated to Networked Lighting Controls Need-to-Knows. The series is rich in graphics which help illustrate technical concepts and is intended to help facilitate conversations and create product demand as much as educate. The handouts may be leveraged as a leave behind with potential customers or used within a shop to drive alignment on topics as simple as nomenclature or approaches to developing a sequence of operations matrix.

Both resources are intended to compliment the northwest regional utility lighting strategy and were developed with support from NEEA, Seattle City Light, and LDL member utilities.

The resources can be found on our Resources page. If you have questions about the resources or would like to provide feedback or recommend additional topics, please share your thoughts with lightingdesignlab@seattle.gov.
