The June 13th webinar will cover electrical, lighting, and renewable energy provisions of the 2021 Seattle and Washington state energy codes for commercial and multifamily buildings. This year’s Seattle code further reduces lighting power allowances, and requires dimming for many major room types. In addition, the solar requirement is moving up to 3/4 of a watt per square foot of floor area, at a very interesting time for solar. These topics, along with controlled receptacles, renewable energy, lighting alterations, metering, commissioning, and more will be discussed during this webinar, with time for audience Q&A. Duane Jonlin, FAIA, will explain the WA and Seattle code requirements, while special guest Shaun Darragh, formerly of the Lighting Design Lab, will discuss options for compliance.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Reduce energy use by optimizing lighting systems
  2. Identify significant new lighting and electrical code provisions
  3. Understand lighting control requirements and compliance options
  4. Provide commissioning and energy metering effectively
  5. Provide code-compliant renewable energy and “solar readiness”
