Welcome to the tour of the Lighting Design Lab.

After 14 years the Lab, a regional lighting education and demonstration facility, underwent a complete
remodel. With visual, environmental and budgetary
concerns foremost, the design demonstrates lighting
in areas with minimal added interior finishes, daylighting
control in all office areas, aggressive energy reduction and reusing over 75% of existing luminaires.

automatic control of all light sources in the occupied
space was designed reusing existing fixtures
• Energy effective lighting strategies for the lobby,
open office, classroom, library, conference room,
copy room, kitchen and bathroom
• Automatic on-off occupancy lighting controls in
every room
• Attention to reflectivity of ceiling, wall and floor
surfaces. Addition of lighting “clouds” to reflect light.
