Main Entry, "The
Prow"
The oversized lodge design demands lighting sympathetic to the architecture
to provide adequate illumination from ceilings 30' or higher. At the main
entry, fixtures with custom mounting arms incorporate uplights (not on)
to light eaves and kickers.
Central Radial Arc
100W and 70W CMH PAR lamps, organized within the ceiling module, light
1st and 2nd floor circulation. High CRI CMH's uplight wood trellises and
shed roof to humanize the immense scale. Pendant fixtures mark bridges
to aid wayfinding. Each fixture type is controlled separately.
Prow, Interior
Atrium fixtures modified for 150W CMH T6 lamps are integrated into the
central beam. Low wattage custom chandeliers mark soft seating. Roof mounted
floodlights accentuate ceiling structure. All sources are long life, high
efficacy, and are accessible via ladders or lifts.
Food Court, Interior
Column mounted uplights minimize daytime contrast ratios and prevent Food
Court from feeling cavernous. Low voltage festoon lights establish a lower
ceiling plane. Purlin mounted CMH PAR lamps provide ambient illumination.
Exposed lamps throughout are louvered to prevent glare.
Food Court, Exterior
Uplit ceilings serve as a beacon while the illuminated mural demarcates
the Food Court's boundary. Fluorescent billboard fixtures cantilever from
the cove housing remote ballasts.
Food Court, Column
Close-Up
MH uplights illuminate the outdoor dining shelter while pairs of arm mounted
post top fixtures light the seating. Conduit is concealed within the tube
steel.
Food Court, Water
Feature
Lighting reinforces architectural rhythm; post-top fixtures define the
perimeter of the plaza. Wattage permitting, CMH lamps were used throughout.
Water feature lighting by others.
Ashrae 90.1 allows
1.8 W/sf, this project uses 0.9 W/sf.
South Village Center
Lighting vocabulary unifies project from mall entry to southern Plaza.
CMH downlights grazing stone columns emphasize pedestrian path. Tivoli
lights reminiscent of Food Court span between buildings.
